Fentanyl is often a strong artificial opioid, which, similar to morphine, provides analgesia but to the increased extent. This strong pharmacologic agent is often fifty to one hundred instances more potent. A dose of only 100 micrograms can generate equivalent analgesia to roughly ten mg of morphine
